Bring The Boys Back Home.

At the weekend, I removed myself from my usual Welsh life and went back home to East London. This was mainly due to my Father and I having concert tickets for Saturday evening to see Roger Waters (Formerly of Pink Floyd) perform the band's groundbreaking album, The Wall.

I've seen this performance in a previous year, and whilst in complete awe at the technical side of things, seemed to gloss over the real message that The Wall holds.
Not this time.

Most of you should know that The Wall is a very political album, completely slating every government that leaves countries starving and hungry while they hold the latest gadgets in their hands and threaten civilizations with bombings. Which... is every government.

This album was written (or released) in 1979.

And yet, every message, every word and every plea to stop the fighting, to bring our boys back home, is still as relevant today as it ever was.

It got me thinking that if the thousands of people just within Wembly, (let alone the hundreds of thousands that went to the entire tour) rose up against the poverty and the prejudice, then we might actually stand a chance to change things.

Instead I got beer spilled over me by a drunken 50+ man and his friends.

It's not too late. I just wish I could do more.
